Hey ya'll! If you can't tell by my name I'm a physicist, specifically I'm a physics grad student at GaTech. Growing up in Florida inevitably leads to an interest in space and hence space games. I've been playing MMOs for over a decade. I've played Runescape, Anarchy Online (for a year or two, made it to level 150 before I stopped paying/playing), World of Warcraft (a gnome warlock named Malkor on Khadgar), and EVE. A significant negative of EVE is that it is still of the target and button-click paradigm; you don't actually get to fly your spaceship, which is what brought me to Star Citizen. In MMOs I focused on PVE style gameplay with raiding in WoW and killing NPC pirates (ratting) in EVE. However, I have participated in PVP in both games.
