I should be good to play tonight. I'll be on that or if it's unplayable then probably Star Conflict or HAWKEN.
Really hope my HW stands up against this resource hog!
EDIT: Updated OP with default key mapping for M&K, HOTAS, XBOX controller, and joystick.

I can play but that mapping... Turning my joystick to the left rolls left? It's impossible to aim like that. I haven't figured out how to change the mappings yet. Edit: Not possible to change mappings yet. More presets available hereAlso ran into the disconnect bug using a usb-based wireless adapter on my pc. Had to switch to wired. Don't forget to pick up your helmet before entering your ship! |

Yeah, I couldn't play last night. I was DLing at 300KB/s last night. No idea why. I restarted the DL a couple times but the speed stayed the same. Oh well, maybe I'll get on tonight. Looks like if finally finished around 4 am LOL.
I'm glad they released it, at least now we can see what progress they've made from HM to DFM.

Also, I've heard around the verse (official forums) that there are some issues with games being corrupted while installing the final patch. I think you can verify game files in the launcher. EDIT: Updated OP with basic HUD functions tutorial. |

I've played a little... having some trouble remembering all of the controls on KB&M. Also, strafe (Q and E) doesn't seem to work. |

I've learned how to control it a bit. The strafing requires decoupled mode to be activated (caps lock). Getting kills in Vanduul swarm is the tricky bit. Missiles are key. It can a be a bit frustrating to hit em with lasers with joysticks or a mouse though that's okay. Think of yourself as a level 1 pilot... at least when they let you set up the button maps.
Also, my weakest point is my graphics card. I was going to upgrade to a GTX 770, but it seems to run fine on a measly 550 TI. I'm still going to upgrade, but now I don't need to rush. All my other specs are pretty high end.

I honestly wouldn't have thought a video card like that would be able to run it, who knew!? I'd wait for a while, too. Better deals on NVIDIA 7 series and AMD R9 series will be fluctuating a lot in the next few months. |

By the way, if you use F3 to get to the engine menu and press ctrl+caps lock you can disable g-safe and pull harsher maneuvers. I tried to do a screen capture video and a print screen and they returned blank or I would have posted a video. I'll need to figure something out for that.

Because games render differently than say... a browser window, the screen cap in game won't work with printscreen. You'll need a trial version of PlawClaw, FRAPS, or something similar. I believe that Raptr has built in screen cap capabilities and so does MSI Afterburner. I'd start with one of the two free ones I mentioned. These methods are widely used in the gaming community. |
