Shits hard, 500 was my first score in the ring, 15000 second... only made it to wave 3. Lag between mouse movement and vehicle response is tough to get used to. Gunna fidget with the controls some more to figure out how to maneuver better; I get into many out of control spins.

Guns over-heat way too quickly. No missiles, just touchy mouse movement and can't fly / aim worth a darn. Not liking it all that much so far. I hope they make some tweaks in the next few months when mp rolls out.

Patch up. The Vanduul seem much harder now. Lots of tweaks are in the patch log.

Have you tried a joystick yet? What aiming issues are you having? I just can't get a bead on an enemy. I don't own a joystick yet. Had to buy a new car because my truck crapped out. Probably won't have a HOTAS until late August early September at this point. I'm just really disappointed with how complicated they made the cockpit controls for weapons and shields. Was hoping it would be comparable to Star Conflict-type 3rd-person flight. Wish there was a way to aim outside of the cockpit. I can't even kill one enemy without failing miserably. Mouse movement is WAAAAAY too jerky for me even after trying multiple sensitivities. Oh well, there's plenty testing to do before official release (2+ years?). We'll see what happens.

Gunna fidget with the controls some more to figure out how to maneuver better; I get into many out of control spins. This taught me that you have limited re-spawns and scores. I tried to get a high score yesterday and got to 26k on my first life before I lost my engine and drifted hopelessly in space while my wingmen and a Vanduul fought each other endlessly. I thought I would eventually hit the edge, but instead I ever so slightly hit an asteroid in a way that slowed me down to 1 m/s. I couldn't eject (haven't gotten this to work yet so it might be my 300i) or do anything so I quit. I tried to play again, but my wrist was getting sore from twisting my joystick for an hour. Drifting hopelessly in space, while frustrating, was actually kind of cool in the sense that it made me for a second really feel like I was lost in space in a real ship. Killing the enemy is getting easier with practice. I got a kill while completely blacked out which I've decided is a VERY cool mechanic though I haven't figure out what combination of turns does it. Patience and practice pays. I think the joystick may be one of the best control configs even if the current set-up is annoying. I'm on a simple, cheap 5-year-old Logitech joystick.

Star Conflict is a 3rd person arcade shooter. It's no excuse for just how hard it is in Star Citizen, but SC is a first person sim. Most of the jerky-ness is coming from the fact that you need to decelerate from turning to stop turning. You need just as long to stop turning as you took to start it so you can't go back and forth on command. The trick is to not use any of your maneuvering thrusters while shooting the enemy. That is, you enter a smooth turn in such a way that your reticule will drift slightly in front of your enemy for a few seconds. That's really all it takes. About 1-2 seconds of shots will murder your opponent. Also, turn SLOWLY when you are aiming. Turn so slowly that it feels like a smooth turn until you get used to the mechanics. If you try to turn suddenly, it feels really weird because in most games, your mouse or game controller moves where you point directly. In this game and in real life, what they control is how quickly you turn. (Sucks about your truck. My car's transmission is worrying me right now too.)

Remember to press TAB in order to play the sim when you get in your seat!

I can't eject in my Aurora either, must be a bug.

The damage states have been improved. Things look and feel much nicer.

Tuns out the Aurora will probably be a manual "walk out" eject. There will probably be no pod or seat that ejects you away from the craft, rather an animation of you escaping through the air lock in the back of the ship.
Also, getting better at dog fighting. Have got to wave 5 about 3 or 4 times in about an hours worth of play time. Finding that aiming the main laser cannons can be difficult and do very little damage. Missiles work correctly now and I can lock and fire on command. No longer dealing with buggy erratic flight.
Who knows if I'll get a HOTAS now... M&KB seem to be working quite well unexpectedly.
EDIT: OK, combat update:
I got to wave 8 within about 48 minutes with minimal damage (killed myself a couple times to re-up on missiles since the main gun is weak). I got bored on my last life and damaged my thrusters/ weapons systems on a rogue asteroid; so I went Kommunizma on a Vanduul Scythe. I'm telling you, the stock Aurora doesn't do a whole lot of damage. Is the 300i the same?
When it takes damage you really notice in the handling even if it's just a slight graze across the main hull. Anyway, I've been having a lot more fun with DFM, but it's getting a little old. Hope to be able to space walk soon in the Aurora. Also hope that the LN will be available for me to fly since that's the ship I bought and the one I will be flying frequently.

The 300i has a large energy supply and doesn't have to charge if you shoot it too long. Heat management has also never been a problem. Xiacod got a new computer so now I've seen what the game looks like on a GTX 770. Beautiful....

There are up to citizen 200,000. Some of us should be able to fly together pretty soon.

I have much better energy management and weapons in the LN, but I'm still waiting for it to be added to the fly-able list. Just broke my record, on wave 11 now in just under 40 minutes. Accuracy and damage seem to be a little better now, but the Vanduul are much more difficult. Still looking at new ships to buy, but they all look super cool to me (especially the newly added ships). I can't make up my mind! I'll just keep waiting *shrug*.
